I thought for my last article of 2023 that I would do a review of some of the subjects I covered in the series this year.
At the end of 2022, I’d just started with Substack and the series, not knowing where it would take me. On December 30th 2022, I sent out my 7th article “Building Castles in the Sky – No.7” capturing what I thought had started me in the world of reading and writing, or creativity, that continued into the next article “A Bridge to Something More – No.8.”
But in the next one I got back to what I’d intended the series to be about—around what was changing in how I thought about things and the world around me. I brought “freewill” into the fold in a basic way with “Very Big, Very Small and What? – No.9” questioning whether we have it or not. I considered that if we don’t have freewill and everything around us functions according to physical laws and forces, how is it that it seems we can make our own decisions? Or do we? Freewill found its way into several articles including “And Then There’s Love – No.11,” “freewill, morality, society – No.33” and “Freewill: Use It Well – No.37.” I concluded with wanting to believe we have it.
