I was out for coffee with a friend this week. As often happens in these chats, a particular question or comment will come up that spins my thoughts around in a bunch of directions. It came after my friend Hines showed me piece of technology that rather than just being fun like the Tik Tok app, it had a genuine useful function. As I started to talk about the fact that we were finally sitting down for the coffee we’d talked about for months, Hines looked a little uncertain.
“Yeah, if I can hear you.” He paused then asked, “Would you mind talking into a mike?”
“A mike?” I said both startled and confused, I’d not been asked such a question in a coffee shop before. It wouldn’t be the first question like that on this occasion. “Like a microphone?”
